MS Clinic: Saunders Medical Center

Approximately 7,000 Nebraskans live with a chronic neurologic disorder called Multiple Sclerosis, or MS, which attacks the central nervous system and causes symptoms such as trouble walking, impaired vision, bladder dysfunction, cognitive difficulties and fatigue. Rural residents with MS face added obstacles that often prevent them from receiving timely diagnosis, testing, treatment, rehabilitation and other forms of medical care.

This is the story of Saunders Medical Center in Wahoo, Nebraska, where health care leaders are determined to be an exception to the distressing standard of care for rural MS patients.
